A MORE COMPLETE WAY
TO UNDERSTAND MOVEMENT.

An integrated approach to movement, coaching, performance, resilience, and longevity.

WHAT IS THE BALANCE METHOD?The Balance Method is an integrated approach to understanding movement, coaching, performance, resilience, and longevity.Created by Paul DeAngelis and Christine De Bellefeuille, it formally organizes and continues to develop the knowledge, methods, and observations shaped through more than two decades of work at Total Balance.Total Balance is the living coaching practice—where this work continues to be applied, tested, observed, and refined. The Balance Method is the emerging organization and transfer of that knowledge.

THREE CURRENT AREAS OF FOCUSThe Balance Method brings together three connected areas of work. Each offers a different way to observe movement, restore options, develop capacity, and support long-term performance and resilience.PREHABMovement begins with options.Prehab explores fascial mobility, movement patterns, and the relationship between structure and function. The focus is on restoring movement options before adding load—helping the body move with greater freedom, adaptability, and resilience.REHABMovement education should help people better understand how their bodies function.Rehab brings together spinal health, Pilates-informed movement, core function, bracing, and practical movement strategies. The emphasis is on thoughtful coaching, appropriate professional scope, and recognizing when referral to a regulated healthcare professional is required.RUNNING MECHANICSRunning is a skill—and skills can be observed, understood, and developed.Running Mechanics uses movement observation, video analysis, perception, and purposeful drills to help improve efficiency, performance, resilience, and longevity.

One integrated method.
